As she sits in the window, stroking balfor, she looked down at him and let out a restless sigh. She knew that the still very young dragon she had been given needed to be around others of his kind. It was not just the fact of needing interaction, but also the fact that he needed to develop natural defences. She had named him Balfor for a reason, for his name meant dragon of luck, and she knew this little fellow was very lucky. Balfor was an albino dragon, and was found in a cave as a new hatchling, Safarah was told he was the only one that survived, and barely at that. Safarah was a dragon rider at her old home, and had a strong bond with dragons, from the life saving blood of her dear friend draco, who had saved her from near death after a uncalled for attack from a gnome. Because of her bond, a very dear friend came across the young dragon, and immediatly thought of her.
The wind hit Safarah's face and brought her out of her daydream. Looking down at Balfour, she could not help but giggle when the little guy tugged to hard on Safarah's skirt, and fell over backwards, got up, and made little grunting sounds. With a sigh, Safarah's thoughts went right back to where they were. She needed to get Balfour around other dragons. They could bring out his instincts in a way she could not. She also knew that Balfor is highly desired, as he is an albino, and she already had to fight for him... She had to go to Draco and ask.... She knew he would resist, and say he's to old to raise him. But only he could teach him how to hunt, how to defend himself, and how to master his natural gift.....Safarah did wonder what it would be... Mabye fire, or telepathy... perhaps wisdom, or .....mabye he dosn't have one. Safarah had never encountered an albino, and didn't know what to expect. But the one thing she did know is she had to go. Her new home did not have an army, let alone a place to house dragons. That would of made things easier...But either way, she knew what she had to do.
As she packed a large sack with provisions they would need, she had hoped that her journey would be swift and easy, but something told her it would not be, as there are many foe's beyond the gates of Bloodfin, and to see a small woman with a very rare dragon, makes for an easy target. With a chuckle, she thought that anyone who crossed her would be very surprised.
After packing her sack with warm blankets, clothing, food and water, she put on 2 garters on each leg. on the left leg, she slid a number of different colored crystals under the garters. The were around 4 inches long and sharpened to a point. Safarah knew the uses for these crystals. Each color had strong magical properties, that have been enhanced by her, let alone the obvious ability to be a sharp stabbing instrument. On the other leg a Amythyst bladed dagger, given to her from her dearest friend Draco when he had saved her. Being made if amethyst, Draco had taught her how to use it to heal, not just kill. Safarah also threw a few other wepons into her sack, and then strapped a rustic bow and arrow sack over her shoulder. This was something new she was learning and had no intention of using it as a weapon. She intended to hunt for food with it.
Letting out a deep sigh, she grabbed the sack, put balfor on her shoulder, and departed on her journey.
More to be written.......

As she approached the large gates of Bloodfin, she felt like a boulder had grown in the pit of her stomach. She had known this feeling all to well and knew that it was a sing of things to come, and not once have they ever been good things...Looking ahead and trying to swallow down that weight in her stomach, she swiftly moved toward the gate, and gives the guard a friendly smile. He was a short, almost gnomish man with strange features. She was surprised that she had not tried to kill him yet, but ever since she arrived at her new home, alot about her was not the same. She heard Balfor growl, and it made her laugh, as she again did not realize the strange little man trying to strike up a conversation, and it was very obvious that her little dragon did not like that...
"I am truly sorry sir, but I hav no time to converse with you, perhaps when I return, but not now. I have much more pressing issues to tend to."
Safarah had realized how short she was with the freakish man, and at that moment, she truly didnt care. All she wanted to do was keep her guard up and get the task over with. Swiftly, she moved through the gates, and out into the open field. The air was dry and hot and only going to get worse as the day wore on.
About 2 hours later of strait brisk walking, Safarah was wishing she had thought of taking a horse. It would have made her journey much faster, but on the other hand, she would not be able to keep to the thick woods for cover. She also knew that she could not call upon her friend Draco to come to her, it was way to dangerous to summon him into the open, unless if it was life or death. There had been an uprise in the slaughter of dragons. Their scales were being sought after to make into armor... Perhaps there would be an uprish in the death of people, as she may find the desire to use their bones for precious armor, and their teeth for jewelery.
As she walked on, she came upon a small stream. The water was so clear that the sun reflecting off it was blinding, and the sparkle of the small crystals scattered along the bottom only added to it. There was a large willow tree along the bank that gently swayed with the slight breeze in the air. Safarah felt something good about this place and decided to stop and eat something, and feed balfor. She walked over to the willow and stood under its majestic branches. How could anyone not have an admiration for this wonderful tree. As she sat upon one of its large roots, she leaned over and pulled out a blanket to sit on. Once laid out, she tended to feeding balfor, then had something herself. She had worked up quite an appetite walking, and decided after she ate to relax a bit. The feeling she had in her stomach had somehow disappeared, and she wasn't going to complain. So she laid back and folded her arms under her head and did just that... she relaxed....
Ok i know a bit wordy, but its how I write... more to come, I just goto get inspired...

About 5 hours later, Safarah awoke to balfor chewing on her nose and realized she is not going anywhere for the evening. It had already started to approach dark, and she had to make camp. She reached into her sack and pulled out a piece of meat for balfor, then filled a small wooden bowl with water from the stream to hydrate herself and her nose chewing friend. She decided the first thing to do was to make a fire. Even though it was very nice out, the nights get cold, and she did not like to feel chilled. Wood was easy to come by as she was off the beaten path, and it had not rained in some time, so it was dry and easy to start. She always loved the smell of burning wood... After making sure the fire was going well, she pulled out her tent, and sleeping gear, and put it together. It was a bit of a struggle, as she has not had to use the items for a while, and she was a bit rusty, and the lack of daylight didn't help either...
About an hour later, safarah sat lazily against the tree trunk with a piece of bread she had been eating and balfor asleep in her lap when she heard movements around her...She tried to listen carefully, but they seemed to stop. It was probably just an animal anyway. Perhaps another few logs on the fire will help keep them away...........................................................

The stranger pulled his hood tighter as a strong gust of cold wind blew through the forest that late afternoon, his boots kicking up dirt as he walked the weather beaten path. The man was in his early twenties, hair short and as white as frost worgs’ fur, his red eyes radiating a clam yet fiery glow. He was of slender build and average height with soft skin and a face on the femanine side. His thick cloak hiding the usual radiance of his fine armor. Suspended on his belt were sheathed long sword and dagger, another long sword hanging strapped on his back. Grabbing the sides of his cloak, he shielded himself from the maelstrom of leaves and dust as his other hand tightened the grip on his horse’s reigns. He was on foot now and guiding his steed Vetiver up a steep hill in a forest he had never been before. They had been traveling for quite a while now and so far their journey had been dull and uneventful. As they continued walking, the man placed a hand on Vetivers’ back and brushed her furry brown mane. “I think we’re lost again” he commented. The horse turned to him in response and gave him somewhat of an apologetic look. He turned his direction to the west, looking past the thick copse of trees in the distance. The amber glow of the sky had begun to turn black, the sun fading into the horizon, allowing the darkness of the night to slowly slip in. His hands slowly went for the handles of his long swords, fingers running through the length of their fine mythril hilts. He felt certain uneasiness in his stomach, a feeling that’s become all too familiar to him. They had to find shelter soon. He didn’t want to find out what manner of strange creatures frequented this particular forest at night. With a stroke of his hairless face and a brush silvery wild hair, he grabbed Vetivers’ reigns and the two companions walked on.

Joe walked along the familiar path to Bloodfin's lands. He had made the journey between Bloodfin and Titan numerous times since he came to this strange world. The journey was a long one by foot, and tonight a cold one, but with his trusty walking stick, he could walk for days and never tire, and heat or cold never affected him. As dusk settled into the woods, his staff imediately lit up, shining enough light for his feet to follow. Off in the distance, where his light stopped, he could see another light flickering through the trees. Perhaps a campfire? Other than himself Joe hadn't known people to travel these woods at night, he decided to veer off his path and see who it could be. As he approached he saw a young woman adding more wood to her fire..."Safarah?" he didn't realize he said her name aloud and it startled him a bit when she turned. (((ooc, is there an area for character sheets so I can know what you look like and I can post mine up for you to see? either way, i'll be posting up a new siggy soon that i painted that is supposed to be my char. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) )))

Huddling close to the fire, Safarah put another log on. It was unusally cold this night, and on top of that, she had the strange feeling she was not alone. As she picked up her mug and filled it with some warm coffee she made, she looked over and smiled when she saw balfour sleeping peacefully and making light grunting sounds. She had thought it to be a good idea to put another wrap on him to keep him warm even though he did not seem to be bothered by it.........
"SNAP"!!!!!......."Safarah"........
Safarah nearly jumped out of her skin. She knew she was not alone, but she had chocked it up to an animal around her. She did not expect to hear a large branch or twig break and almost instantly hear her name spoken. Safarah reached down and pulled out one of the daggers from her garter and took a defensive stance next to the fire.
"Well it is obvious you know who I am, so why dont you stop hiding in the shadows like a coward and show yourself. If your intent is harmful, I guarantee you that the outcome will not be what you expect."
Safarah reached down with the other hand and grabbed the untouched end of a long thin piece of wood from the very hot fire and walked towards the voice that spoke her name.
"Whats wrong coward, are you afraid of a mere woman?... Well you will be when I am done with you. You will make a lovely meal for a friend of mine."
As she marched forward in the most intimidating fashion she could think of, she saw a large figure holding something of a staff or stick. It was still to dark to make out the figure, but she held her ground. She moved closer, clutching her dagger and ready to burn this being like the raging fires of hell.
"You say my name creitan, but you still stand there in the shadows. I do not fear you..."
As she took another few steps forward, she froze in her tracks. She did know this person, but why did he stay in the shadows, why didnt he answer her....Either way, she was a bit relieved that it was a friend and not someone she had to slay..
"JOE!!!!!! what in gods name are you doing sneaking up on me, and why didn't you answer me. Come over to the fire, it's cold out here tonite. I have some hot coffee. Boy your lucky it was you...What are you doing out here?"
She let out a giggle, and put her dagger back under her garter. She then reached over and grabbed his hand and led him over to the fire to warm up a bit....Even though she had come across her friend, she still had that feeling that now they were not alone.... ((OOC: Hey Casario.. nice to have ya jump in ;-p. Feel free to work yourself in at any point. any rp's I do are open to anyone. BTW, welcome to bloodfin... Joe had been meditating as he walked and was still a bit startled from coming out of it to find Safarah here. She wasn't that far from Bloodfin ... was she leaving after dusk? perhaps in trouble and using the cover of night? He didn't realize the light from his staff had dimmed when he approached the natural light of the fire, nor that Saf was talking to him until she was right up on him. ... "Sorry, I was just startled to see you out here on such a chilly night, and I, uh, tend to get lost in my thoughts sometimes. ... Well, anyway, I was just coming on a friendly visit to Bloodfin; it's quite the trip from Titan by foot, but one I enjoy everytime I visit. But what about you? Why are you out here in the woods after dark? You aren't too far off from Bloodfin yet so I assume you must be leaving?"

Night had already fully descended as the traveler and his steed continued to walk deeper into the forest. He found it manageable to travel that night. There had been enough moonlight to allow him to see. Besides, he wanted to avoid lighting a torch. In a situation like this, it was tantamount to painting a target on his back. Orc and goblin raiding parties could be nearby, laying in wait to ambush unsuspecting travelers who were stupid enough to be walking through the forest at night. He chuckled silently to himself. How amusing it was that he fell into that category. He looked at himself, squinting to see properly. He could smell the dirt and perspiration he picked up along his travels. Vetiver snorted, nudging him gently with the side of her head as if she somehow read his mind.
The stranger had just begun to scout ahead, looking for a clearing for which they can take shelter that night when he noticed the light of embers in the distance. It was feint but he could see that someone or something had set up camp yards from his current position. From his location, he could not discern who and how many occupied the camp so he decided to do a little scouting. After backtracking a few paces to his horse, he immediately removed Sword and armor and strapped them on various belts on Vetivers’ saddle. He brushed the horse on the back and ordered her to stay put. The stranger was gone in seconds, moving with the stealth and grace of a drow. His footfalls were silent and form totally concealed in the shadows. It was as if he completely melded with the darkness altogether. He could hear his heartbeat. His body was relaxed and perfectly balanced, ready to react to anything with deadly precision. He still could not see who occupied the camp but so far he was undetected. He unsheathed his fine dagger and approached even closer, coming as silent as death itself.

Saf handed her seemingly confused friend a warm cup of coffee and sat upon the fur pelt layed on the ground next to the fire.
"Leaving, well yes, but I intended to make better time then I did. I started out earlier this morning and decided to take a rest when I happened upon this clearing and this lovely willow. I guess I had eaten to much and layed down for a bit to relax, and the next thing I knew, it was just about dark out, so I made camp for the night. "
Safarah lets out a bit of a sigh and looks around. She still feels a bit uneasy. She knows they are not alone, and in these woods, it could be anything. A rogue group of orcs ready to feed on the flesh of anything they can get, or a nasty group ot theiving bandits. Perhaps a very disgruntaled unpure soul with nothing but harmful intentions, and for no aparent reason. A chill ran the length of her spine, shaking her to the core. She slowly walks over to her friend and leans down as quietly as possible, and whispers to him.
"Forgive me, but we are not alone out here. I have had this feeling for a while, but when you came, I thought that was it. It is not, for the feeling is still there. I cant tell you how I know, it's more if an intuitition that I have. I think it is a good idea to arm yourself, for I do not feel it to be an animal."
She looks down at balfor then at Joe...
"I do believe my journey is going to be a tough one. I do not have the protection of the gates of Bloodfin out here, and he is a very desired posession. But I'm sure you know that. Anyway, he is the reason for my travel. I need to see another dragon about the possibility of him raising balfor. I dont know how to bring out his instincts and gifts like another dragon does. But I fear the answer will be no, as the other dragon is getting on in years......Either way, I must try."
There was a long silence between them when Safarah looked up.
"So why are you traveling off the beaten path, I know you travel between Bloodfin and Titan alot, but dont you use the roads?"

Noticing the small dragon for the first time Joe smiles. " I see," he says, the turning back to Saf, "It seems I still have much to learn about this world. And perhaps," he paused, "you wouldn't mind me joining you in your journey?" Before she could answer though, he spoke again, "But first, I hope you'll forgive me for this, but, if we truly are not alone, I'm not one for waiting. Please, cover your eyes." and with that he rose his staff high up in the air, and without a word from him, its brightness grew, a light so bright that for a hundred yards around the clearing, the forrest was as bright as the noon day, and turning he saw, still hidden well, the cloaked figure at the edge of the clearing. "If you are wishing to avoid confrontation stranger, this is not the way to go about it."

In an instant, the clearing and the entire area surrounding it had be engulfed in a bright light, startling the stranger at the same time. The last thing he remembered seeing before shutting his eyes were the initial flash of white. Still disoriented and with his free hand half covering his eyes, he stood up and focused his hearing around him. "They must have detected me" he thought to himself. But how? Magically maybe? He didn't have time to think about it. When he was sure that no attack was going to follow, he slowly opened his lids and allowed his eyes to adjust to the current spectrum of light. As soon as he regained his sight, he immediately looked at the cause of the bright light. Standing in the center of the clearing were two figures. The man was of average height and built, possibly a wizard. He carried a long staff in one hand which also seemed to have been the source for the light. The other figure was that of a slender woman but he could not discern anything more through her appearance. The stranger took a quick scan of the area. The two were only a few paces away from him and in close range for a dagger throw. His weapon was already out and he could have quickly closed the distance between them with relative ease. Instead he sheathed his weapon, not wanting to start trouble. He stepped forward, resting an elbow on a sword handle and keeping his crimson red eyes tightly locked on the man.
"Nor is casting a bright light over a forest" he answered. "Turn off that light fool or do you wish to attract creatures fouler then orcs?”

Joe had traveled these woods many times and never been attacked by orc or beast with his staff lighting the way.... A bluff or was Joe just lucky so far? Overconfidence was always his weakness, but then, where he came from.... Snap out of it Joe, You're spacing out again. He shook his head suddenly, lowered his staff and the light dimmed. Perhaps now was not the time to try to intimidate this intrusive spy. "Step forward then, to show you mean no harm." he called to the stranger.

Before Saf had a chance to reply to joe, she was blinded by the light that eminated fron the staff he carried. All she could do was rub her eyes and try to refocus. Her voilet colored eyes teared up as she rubbed them, perhaps being a bit tired added to that fact.....
"Will you put that thing out... Attention will surely be drawn to our presence like that, anyway you just blinded me..."
Safarah continued to rub her eyes, "ahhh" she thought aloud, much better as she was starting to be able to see again. She had looked around to see if there were any threats. but her eyes were still blurry. She knew she had to work on perfecting her skills of intuitition, for she felt extreemely vunerable at that moment. Safarah tried her best to focus her eyes when finally saw him about 50 yards out the soul that Joe was yelling to. He had seemed to re-sheath his weapon, which had made Safarah feel a bit more safe for a moment, but she was still on her guard, as she realized that her new traveling companion was a bit careless, or fearless as he would call it. This was definetly something she would have to speak to him about.
She had wondered where this person came from and who he or she was. Either way, it was obvious he was not intending to fight, for there would surly have been a ruckous by now. Perhaps this was a friend of Joes from titan, and not a foe, or perhaps just a weary traveler. Either way, she knew she needed more coffee and at this rate, she was going to have to pay the high prices of a street merchant to replenish her supply. She really didn't mind though... she really did like the company....She looked at balfor, and quickly covered him up, to avoid any unwelcome curiosity, then looked over and waved her arm to the stranger, then whispered to Joe.."Do you know this person?"
"If you are friend, you are welcome to come over to the fire and warm up. If you are foe, i'm afraid you stumbled into the wrong path..."

((i hope you guys dont mind if i jump in here joe placed this between titan and bloodfin and sefarah has this in the forest im in my element w00t))
*Tharris had been in the forest walking for days stopping and praying and drinking in the beauty of the world around him. He loved this time he got to spend outside of the city in the wilderness communing with nature. He could tell he was on the verge of a breakthrough in his relationship with meilikki, he didn't know what it was but he was close. He was taking this time to meditate and think to try and take that last step forward. Tharris, being a wood elf was more at home and relaxed in the woods than in the city and so being a ranger came naturally to him. Tracking, hunting, making friends with the animals these were things he did for fun. And as such he had learned how to live off the land and just be one with the forest. No matter where he was if it was a forest it was home, at least as far as he was concerned that was the case. And so with his chainshirt and leather breaches under his forest green cloak which hung loosly for freedom of movement over his shoulders and his scimitars by his side he went to investigate the strange occurance of lights in his home. He wasnt that far away from Titan if he needed help, and if an emergency arose he was really close to Bloodfin where he had numerous friends. So with that knowledge he went towards the light with the nimbleness only a woodelf could have in the forest and the stealth that only someone who had spent a lifetime in nature could duplicate.

The visitor just stood, casting a cold and emotionless glare at the two strangers. He relaxed his shoulders and stepped forward, turning his attention to the woman who just addressed him. Probably the smarter of the two he thought. "I apologize if i startled you. I had not intended to do so. I merely thought that this camp was occupied by group of orcs". "Allow me to introduce myself, I go by the name Cesario. Thank you for your warm hospitality and I accept your offer. Me and my horse has been traveling for quite a while and we could use a much needed rest. However, we are still strangers and I don't know if I can trust you two. If you try anything remotely threatening I will not hesitate to draw blade and cut you down from where you stand". He turned towards the path and blew a whistle, calling for his horse. In a few minutes, Vetiver came galloping into the clearing towards her master.
